90年代の終わりにSpynaworkshopとして活動を始めたPest。
楽曲制作にコンピューターを使用するだけではなく、楽器の多重録音を取り入れた作品を作り出していた。
時と共にテクノロジーも進化し、使用できる機材も増えたが、彼らはそれらを駆使しさらにに力を注いだ。
そのように作り上げられた音は、彼らの初期のインディーリリース作品のなかでその存在感をアピールしていた事で、12インチ‘Pest’ のリリースによりNinja Tuneと契約。
2003年にはいくつかの限定盤と、ファーストLPにして高い評価を得た’Necessary Measures’をリリース。
ツアーとスタジオでのレコーディングに勢力を出し、二年後の2005年にセカンドアルバム’All Out Fall Out’をリリース。
すでにこの頃には彼らの強烈なライブパフォーマンスは評判となり、特にフランスのフェスティバルなどでは、そのユニークなパーティーサウンドに観客が熱狂した。
2006年にMC／プロデューサー兼DJのSaffrollaが自らのソロプロジェクトに従事するため脱退。
バンドはさらにダンスフロア色の濃い音を作り、ここ二年間、彼らのサードアルバムとなる作品を仕上げるためレコーディングを続けている。
今回の狙いは、彼らのライブを生で感じる事。
ロンドンのKoko’s and Cargoで行われるライブは絶対に見逃せないモノとなった。
今後のPESTの活動にも大きな期待が出来るでしょう！！

They started their career at the end of 90’s as ‘Spynaworkshop’ and they chose to use not only a computer to make sounds but a multiple sound recording system which was quite rare that time. Adding that, they amazingly handle those high techniques getting developing everyday. It stood out in their amature12 Inch album ‘PEST’ and that led them get a contract with Ninja Tune.
After that, they released some limited albums and ‘Necessary Measures’, the first LP which got a high reputation in 2003.
They put their effort on doing the tours and the recording in the studio, and their second album’ All out fall out’ was released in 2005.
Their impressive live performance got a reputation by then, especially in France, they got lots of fans because of their outstanding and unique party sound.
MC, Producer, and also DJ, Saffrolla left the band to concentrate on his solo project in 2006.
PEST makes the stronger dance floor sound and they have been focusing on the 3rd album to be released in this 2 years. Their live act at Koko’s Cargo in London was successful and don’t miss out this great chance to see and feel their sound at Magical Camp in Sapporo!!
